EU Declaration of Conformity

An EU Declaration of Conformity is a document issued by a manufacturer to confirm that a product complies with the relevant EU regulations. This can cover a variety of requirements, including safety, health protection, environmental protection, and other aspects specified in various EU directives and regulations.

In the context of bulk material sampling, an EU Declaration of Conformity could confirm that the sampling device or system complies with the requirements of the relevant EU regulations. These may include, among others, the following directives:

  1. Machinery Directive: This sets safety and health protection requirements for machinery marketed or put into service in the EU.
  2. ATEX Directive: This concerns devices and protective systems intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres.
  3. Pressure Equipment Directive (PED): This establishes safety standards for the design and manufacturing of pressure equipment.

The specific profile of requirements that a product must meet depends on the particular type of product and its intended use. An EU Declaration of Conformity should specify which EU directives and regulations apply and how the product meets those requirements.

It is important to note that a product for which an EU Declaration of Conformity has been issued typically must bear the CE marking. This marking is a visible sign that the product complies with EU requirements and may be sold throughout the EU.
