Quantification

Quantification in the context of bulk sampling typically refers to the process of accurately determining certain properties or components within the sample. This can include a variety of aspects, depending on the specific bulk material and the objectives of the sampling.

Some examples could be:

  1. Concentration of substances:  A quantification could be used to determine the concentration of certain substances or elements within the sample. This could include, for example, the amount of metal in an ore sample, the content of certain nutrients in a soil sample, or the level of impurities in a sample of industrial waste.
  2. Physical properties: Quantification could also be used to measure physical properties of the sample, such as particle size, density, porosity, or other similar properties.
  3. Total amount of bulk material:  In some cases, quantification could also be aimed at estimating the total amount of bulk material based on the analysis of one or more samples.

In any case, quantification is an important step in the sampling process, as it serves to provide accurate and reliable information about the bulk material. This can be important for a variety of purposes, including quality assurance, compliance monitoring, process control, and R&D.
